Description:
The purpose of this position is to assist people with disabilities in both system and individual advocacy issues covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), provide Peer Mentor Services to consumers and assist the Loan Locker Program Manager in keeping an accurate inventory of items in the Loan Locker.  Must be able to provide own transportation and travel extensively throughout Northwest Florida.                                                  
                                                                               
GENERAL DUTIES:                                                                 
Consumer Services:                                                             
1.  Report on both community and individual outcomes.                          
2.  Document information and provide assistance according to written goals submitted by  the consumer.                                                    
3.  Procedures are followed using SOP #43.                                     
4.  Meet monthly personal performance goal hours.                              
5.  Enter performance hours into database.                                     
6.  Provide good customer service to co-workers and consumers.                 
7.  Responsible for coordinating issuance of wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, e.g., from CIL Loan Locker program.
8.  Point of contact for donations of equipment to Loan Locker program.        
9.  Submit inventory report of Loan Locker items.                              
                                                                               
ADA COMMUNITY ACCESSIBILITY:                                                   
10.  Conduct ADA accessibility evaluations in the service area to determine compliance with ADA and Florida Building Codes.                      
                                                                                
COMMUNITY CONTACT:                                                             
11.  Initiate outreach efforts to minority/ethnic populations, by attending minority/ethnic cultural events and networking with indigenous minority community leaders (ADA Torch Relay, Grass roots forum, Martin Luther King events, etc).                                                                  
                                                                                
ADMINISTRATIVE:                                                                
12.  Notify the Executive Director of any situation that may have a negative impact on the organization.                                                    
13.  Records, forms, data reports, and documentation are complete and accurate.
14.  Incumbent works independently with minimal supervision.                   
15.  Comply with and refer to the Personnel Policy Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Landrum Employee Handbook for guidance.                 
16.  Perform other duties deemed necessary by Management.                      
17.  Write and/or submit articles for the Newsletter and assists with the Newsletter, brochures, Public Service Announcements, fundraising, etc.  Also, submit clipping, videos, articles, or photographs.                             
18.  Return Consumer Activities Check List to Administrative Assistant within 24 hour deadline.                                                                  
19.  Meets specific deadlines established by the Supervisor or other sources.  
20.  Comply with SOP #12 Consumer Service Record when entering data into the database.                                                                      
                                                                               
Qualifications:                                                                
1.Must be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate.                    
2.Must have good writing skills.                                               
3.Must have computer experience.                                               
4.Priority consideration will be given to people with disabilities.            
5.Priority consideration will be given for volunteer hours at the organization.
                                                                               
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
1.Sitting/Standing for long periods of time (using the computer and driving).  
2.Standing/Sitting for 50 minutes while giving presentations.                  
3.Writing letters and documenting files.                                       
4.Lifting:  lift equipment weighing 25 lbs. and place on roll table.           
5.Twisting: at waist when sitting and driving                                  
6.Bending: carpenter work                                                      
7.Squatting: carpenter work                                                    
8.Walking/rolling during ramp site evaluation                                  
9.Climbing:use ladder to pull boxes and return to shelf
