Description:
Responsible for direct supervision of nursing personnel, and other personnel in the day-to-day management of the Call Center.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse for a minimum of five years with a current State of Florida license. Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. The RN must be willing to obtain both Florida and Alabama RN licenses. (Client will pay for the second license) as required by the organization to occasionally assist with patient coverage in both states. Prefer five (5) years of recent experience in a medical/surgical setting, a hospital, oncology or geriatric facility. Has Certification in Palliative Nursing or will test for CHPN within one year after hire. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, displayed management and leadership skills and an ability to interact successfully with members of the healthcare community and other community leaders. Reliable transportation, valid state of Florida driver's license, and current automobile liability insurance is required. Must possess current CPR certification Must possess strong and effective listening, verbal, and assessment skills.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
A. Responsible for the hiring, orientation and evaluation of all clinical staff assigned. Ensures the general and clinical orientation of all new team members to include completion of clinical competencies in a timely manner. Ensures that all staff attends mandatory in-services. Ensures that all documentation required for employee files is forwarded to Human Resources in a complete and timely manner.
B. This position requires experience, skill and training appropriate to supportive nursing care. He/she works with the group to follow up on patient care activities; provide advice, support and assistance to the team members as
needed.
C. Responsible for timely payroll and other financial information to the business office (i.e. Notice of Change forms, High Cost Items, time sheets, etc.)
D. Promotes a healthy and safe working environment for staff by maintaining knowledge of and complying with agency exposure control policies and OSHA regulations and requirements.
E. Is able to competently perform all basic nursing skills.
F. Tracks problems and communicates to supervisor of trends, to facilitate process improvement.
G. Good steward of equipment and supplies.
H. Creates and maintains climate that promotes growth and harmonious relationships within the organization.
I. Completes Clinical Competency Orientation within the 90-day probationary period.
J. Utilizes new learning experiences to promote professional growth.
K. Promotes a positive image of the organization throughout the community.
L. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
This position frequently requires medium/heavy lifting. Normally such lifting will involve but not be limited to, assisting with transfer/repositioning of the patient either in the home or nursing facility. This position requires extended periods of sitting at workstation, 8 plus hours' use of telephone head set and repetitive use of computer. May require time traveling in a personal motor vehicle in connection with performing essential functions of position.
