Basic Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver's License
* Operator I must possess a Class "C" Wastewater certification
* Operator II must possess a State of Florida Class "C" Wastewater AND Class "C drinking water certification
Essential Job Functions:
* Involves working as a certified operator of the wastewater treatment plant.
* Responsible for proper operation and regulation of plant equipment so that the end product meets quality standards, the Florida DER requirements and city requirements.
* Performs sampling and analysis and following established operating procedures.
* Taking and recording meter readings at regular intervals and adding chlorine and other chemicals to the water or sewer.
* Regulates rate of flow of water to and from wells; puts filters into and out of line; washes filters; generally regulates machines.
* Inspects wastewater treatment plant and water wells on a regular basis and reports any discrepancies or needed repairs to supervisor
Starting salary $27,000-$31,500 depending on experience and qualifications.
